Mobile Phones are Taking Over

Best Mobile Apps for Dog Owners - 4

I might, just might, be considered by some strict with my kids when it comes to “screens.”

My children were not allowed to watch any tv until they were two years old.   Neither child (now 8 and 12 years old) will have a phone until they have a job and can pay for it.   And we have a NO SCREENS (this applies to tv since they don’t have an iPad either) policy during the week and limited viewing on the weekends.

Just watch the movie WALL-E  and you will see why.  There is a whole world around us, but none of us can see past the screen in front of our faces.

Rant over.

But for as much as I complain about society’s reliance and obsession with “screens,” I use my mobile phone extensively.  There are so many mobile apps on my phone that make operating my business, serving my family and my dogs, while on the go, easier and more efficient, that I feel it is a necessary evil in my life.

Hey pot, your kettle is calling!

Perhaps.

But since Big Dog Mom is dedicated to serving big dogs, let me share some of the best mobile apps that I have found to help you, as a dog owner, take better care of your dog.

The 7 Best Mobile Apps for Dog Owners

Given the difficulty describing a mobile app using the combination of text and images, and to lessen the amount of time you are sitting here in front of a screen, I put together this video so you could see them in action in real-time.

Below the video, you will find all of the links and resources for each mobile app and any additional details not covered in the video.

1. Raw K9’s Thrive *NEW*

This mobile app is brand new and I believe going to be, dare I say, life-changing for many raw feeding dog owners.  Available for iPhone and Android phones, Raw K9’s Thrive is a mobile app designed to help dog owners easily transition to and maintain their dog on a raw food diet.

The creator of this mobile app, Kristin Clark, MA, CSAN, is a certified Carnivore Nutrition Consultant and Small Animal Naturopath.  She is the founder and Editor-in-Chief of Raw Pet Digest an international online magazine devoted to natural feeding and healthcare for dogs and cats.  She has authored two wonderful books on the subject of raw feeding as well.

GoodRx is free to use and is available for both iPhone and Android.

3.  Rover

Rover is the nation’s largest network of 5‑star pet sitters and dog walkers.  With Rover, you can search and read verified reviews for all the pet sitters in your area and book and pay securely through the app.
